Privacy policy
What we collect, and why
- Your email address, only if you subscribe to the daily summary. Subscription is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm from your own inbox. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
- Your IP address, briefly, when you submit the subscription form: used solely for rate-limiting and abuse prevention, and trimmed on a rolling basis within about 30 days.
- Aggregate, cookieless analytics via Simple Analytics (EU-based). No cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking. We see page counts, not people.
- Standard server logs for security and operations.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone. We do not run advertising or third-party trackers. We do not build profiles of individuals.
Public forum commentary
The sentiment layer summarises publicly posted UK arable discussion in aggregate. Where a short excerpt appears on this site, the author is anonymised to initials. We do not publish personal profiles and we do not republish the underlying corpus.
Who processes data on our behalf
Email delivery: Resend. Hosting: Amazon Web Services (London region). Analytics: Simple Analytics (EU). Each processes only what is needed for its function.
Retention
Subscriber records are kept while your subscription is active and removed from the send list immediately on unsubscribe. Rate-limit records are trimmed within about 30 days. Backups age out on a rolling schedule.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to processing. Email alastair@hurricane.works and it will be handled directly. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
